?Stevens 200

I have a Stevens 200 in 300WM ; I paid 300 for it on sale when they were winding down inventory . Kind of homely with the grey stock....but super tough , and extremely accurate for a budget rifle.....you can't go wrong with the 200.....

I had one in 30-06 and it was a fine shooter. Better than it should have been for the price. I sold it to replace it with one of my Dad's rifles in 30-06. It should be out killing deer and moose around Kelowna right about now.

I always wanted to buy a take-off barrel and bolt head in 300 WM. Would have been a lively rifle at that light weight.

I got my 200 running really well over a year ago. I would try to find a used one or the closest thing you can get to it now is a Savage model 11 for short action or 111 for long action.

My thanks to all of you who responded to my thread about the Stevens 200. All of the responses were positive too! That tells me what i need to hear. I will be keeping my eye out for one. Got an email into Dantes, I'm brand new to shooting and CGN so it will be 90 days I think before I get to access the Equipment Exchange which is Ok as i need to get my PAL first, foolish me I let my FAC expire years ago. Thanks again everybody. :)

I believe it is a 90 day wait to access Off Topics.....to access the EE ; it is only a few days or less after you make your introductory post.....

My thanks, you are correct, reread all the rules and made my application to EE. Great handle by the way, Templar Knight - a great book too of a trilogy written by Jack Whyte who was from Scotland and now makes his home in my neck of the woods, the sunny Okanagan.

Hey guys, would any of you know what would be causing my firing pin to not set off the primer on my stevens 39a bolt action 410? It's just making a dent in it and I would really love to get it firing again.

Try cleaning the bolt internals first; google 39a bolt disassembly for your shotgun. If the cleaning does not work try posting your question in the Hunting Shotgun forum or Gunsmithing forum.
