I was hoping to buy a stevens 200 in .223. Does anyone know a Canadian website where I can buy one? They seem kind of hard to find. Also, what would be a good price? Thank you!

I just sold one chambered in 22-250 and it was hard to give up, but that was the deal with the wife for the handgun I wanted to buy. Excellent, accurate rifle that doesn't break the bank. I bought mine from a friend for $400 and it included a standard Bushnell Elite 3200 that he had mounted.

He had only put about 60 rounds through it, and I about 300 before selling it with the scope for $350. My friend had ordered it new through the mail but I can't remember where. I'll send him an email and ask him.

The sites sponsors at the top of the page would be a good start. Cabelas Canada or Wholsale sports definatly have them on their sites.

Try cabelas.ca, good service and price usually. We have 2X.223 at my club, neither can do better than 1 1/4" for 5 shots 100 yd., some claim better.

I bought mine new from a near by gunshop and it came with budget rings and a 3-9 scope for 429$ I ended up selling it to make room for more milsurps, but it was a great gun for the money.

I bought mine in 308 from Wholesale in Calgary. put about 100rds through it before I sold it to a friend for $200. Bought it from whole sale for about 325

And do you think its a better deal to get a stevens 200 for $350 or a savage 11f for $500?

I got a Stevens 200 in .223 from SIR (now Cabelas) when they first became available for $319 or $329. For a brief while they even went down to $299.

The only issue I had with it was an occasional failure to strip off the magazine. I recall reading on the net that Savage would provide a stronger replacement mag spring for those rifles, but fixed the problem/modified the magazine in later production.

About a year and a half ago I got another in .308 on sale for $329 from some place out West just before Ontario's HST was applied to out of province purchases (incidentally the magazine is different from the older .223). There's been talk of these going out of production the past few years on account of the newer Savage Edge (or did that name change?) so I made a point of picking one up in .308 before it was too late. Now even my last Lebaron Catalogue just lists .300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag, probably from older stock.

They might go for as high as $380 (supposedly the regular price for the .308 that I got), probably more like $350 if you could find one. I bet you can find one out there still if you keep looking and think it worth your time if you really want one.

Good Luck!
