I've done some research and found it will work with 2 #46 weaver bases. The bases are cheaper then I thought only $3.50 each. I've been looking at rings but was wonder will mediums work with 40mm scope?

m39a2 I'm looking at getting a .243 for predators and varmint. :)

Get some medium Burris Zee rings and you'll be all set with your 40mm scope.

You may be pushing it with medium rings on a 40mm objective. Perhaps somebody on here can give you a definate answer but I would tend to go with the hi mount rings and be sure. Depending on what scope u use it may also have scope lens covers that are plastic and the extra bulk may not work with the lower rings.. Just my $.02

wholesale the cheapest I found

$319.95 cant beat the price of these guns for how they shoot. Got a 22-250 shoots good. I used leupold rings and bases and mounted a burris fullfield II scope.

I just bought a Stevens 200 in .243. I put a Tasco 2.5X10 Mildot scope, Millet rings, and Weaver(#46) bases. Looks great. This will be used for deer and varmints also. Now, all I need is time to get to the range.

Wow lots of people have the Stevens 200. I just bought a .243win off here. I just finished sanding the mould lines and painted it with a grey/black textured paint.

What ammo is everyone using in there .243? I got some
Rem 100gr PSP right now.

NOw here is a question for you's.

Do you think that the accutrigger could be placed onto a stevens 200? Im no gunsmith, and the question just came to mind.

if not fine, its just a question.

I have a Savage 110 series (same as Savage 200) and I mounted a 42mm scope on medium rings no problem - I even put caps on without issues.

Triggers are fin, and they are fully adjustable. You'll only be able to get them down to 3 lbs or so, but they can be made extremely clean with some minor work. No, the accutrigger will not fit, but why bother? The existing trigger can be made perfectly acceptable for hunting conditions, and it's not exactly a bench/varmint rig. There ARE aftermarket triggers available if you're so inclined, but if you're planning on spending an extra $70-100 on an aftermarket trigger, you really should start with a full-blown Savage gun, or maybe a rem 700SPS IMHO
