Went out today as it is so darn warm here and worked up some loads for my stevens, found the rl-22 and 4831 worked the best with the best velocities, groups look good.

Nice shooting,

i can't wait to get my RCBS rockchucker Supreme kit to start and try shrinking my 243's groups. You just gotta love those rifles for the price!!

i did get some velocities a bit over 3230,but just to check for pressure signs and did not have enough loaded up to try any groups..But with those two loads they have the accuracy dept covered. Can't say I have shot tighter groups with my browning or cz or any other rifle!!!

I gather that's the 100gn GameKing SPBTs, right?
The GameKings are a very accurate bullet for the money but the pillar bedding on the Stevens is better still.
Out of interest, do they have a factory accuracy guarantee like the Weatherby Vanguards?

The range was 100 yards, the bullet was the 100 gr sierra spbt,I am impressed with them to say the least. Not sure how they would be on deer but should work!.I do not think I have an accuracy gaurantee with it but with those two powders it will work!Good velocity out of a 22 inch barrel as well, was not sure what I would get, chrony about 30 feet from the muzzle.Cases seem to have a bit of a bulge about 3/8 of an inch from the bottom, not sure if it is the winchester brass.Seen it in my 30-06 with winchester, not so much with rem brass. My friend had his vangaurd 223 there as well yesterday and got some nice groups with #### chinese norinco ammo!Big velocity spreads with some ,From 3100 to 3330 fps.

Let me know when you want to sell or trade the 25-06!

I tried to buy one at Wholesale last week when I was there. They had a 223 with my name on it that I was supposed to get, but it got sold, so I figured I would get a 25 instead. None there, so brought home a 7mm-08. Took it outb last weekend and it is a one-incher as well.

These rifles are boring. I have three now and they all shoot an inch or better!

Remind me of the Rem 788s thirty years ago. :D

This sounds like your resizing die is set up incorrectly.... Check your brass before you fire them.

A lot of factory brass is considerably undersize. If you mike a few 22-250, 243, 270, '06 and such cases you will be surprised. The bases are supposed to be .470, but a lot of brass is .462-463" diameter.

Some magnum brass is even worse, just ahead of the belt. I have seen it as much a .010" smaller than it is supposed to be.

The brass did mike at .463,and wound up being .473 after firing in the bulged section.See what it does after the second firing, should not change..Cases did not stretch the overall length hardly anything ,couple of thou is all.Heard bad things about case stretch in the 25-06 somewhere, but not evident so far

John brennan,I did some loads with 56.5 and wound up at 3230 and a bit below but I could see a wee bit of pressure signs so I will stay with 56,comfy with that in this bullet,Might get some partitions in 100 gr to see what that does..
