So- the last Stevens 300 over at SFRC is extremely tempting. Very tempting actually. So tempting, I left it in my cart......

Anyways, sell me on the 300. Or inform me what a POS it is. Praise it, or bash it. What you tell me/don't tell me, may, in fact, have some sort of impact on whether or not I go through with it.

Are you considering the 13" barrel one or the regular length?

I have the short version and I'm impressed with it. I can't see why the longer barrel one would be much different quality wise.

The trigger on the 300 is crap, the accutrigger is well worth the extra $. If you are so inclined you can fix the trigger, check the shimming thread on rimfire central. Got mine from 7 lb. to 2.5 lb.
I got the 13 inch barrel so no accutrigger or scope mounts and they charge a premium, but to my surprise, I really do like it.
