Hey guys~wondering if anyone in this crowd has seen this "new" shotgun offering from Savage. The action looks suspiciously like an H&R, the stock techy/plastic/ugly and consistent with the stocks they're rimfires are being fitted with of late. A real mismatch of course, but the H&R action is supposed to be good/solid. Should be no surprise, on their site..they're using their rifle spec list (ie, "Accustock:no Accutrigger:no) and leaving out things like "choke". lol I looked to see if it was threaded for tubes, no mention of that either. Guessing they're fixed choke, but I'd think that would limit their appeal..?

Anyhow, wondering if anyone has seen these...thoughts...? If this gun is old-ish news or been discussed already...my apologies. :)
 
One other thing...I don't pay that much attention to these guns, but I thought H&R/NEF were the same company...and that Marlin (now Remington) owned them..? How might Savage be making the same, or nearly identical gun? Patent run out?
 
Can't tell you about the 301, but I have. 320 pump and its a tank, if the 301 is anything like the same build quality I think it should be fine. They sure aren't fancy, but mine functions flawlessly
