Does anyone know where to purchase a spare magazine for the Steven's 334? Alternatively I would love to find an ATA Turqua 5 shot magazine. My local store said they aren't available for order yet and suggested I reach out to Savage. I'm still waiting to hear back. If anyone has any leads, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

Tha magazines look very similar to the Tikka ones, and the Tikka magazines go for $100 to $120 plus tax.

Should have bought a Turqua, they come with 2 magazines.

That's just insulting...$180 for a plastic Turkish mag...wow.
The Turqua prices are insane as well, pushing $1000 vs $500 for the Savage.

Yeah they blew straight past the "value" niche and started competing directly with the $1000 bracket...odd eh

I’m still chuckling after reading thunderhogs post in another thread that says they squash Tikka T3’s in trigger feel, fit and finish, accuracy and smoothness of operation.

Coming from the same plant both with a walnut stock the Steven’s one sells for 500 and the Turka one for 1000$.

If I close my eyes, concentrate real hard and recite the secret Turkish words while vigorously rubbing my turqua maybe it will magically become a tikka? :p

I didn't handle the $780 Stephens rifle yet (yes the Savage you are refering to, is actually a Stephens and sells for $780 including taxes).

However, yesterday I received 2 ATA Turqua rifles, and when I compared the to a brandnew Tikka at the range today, I looks like the Turkish gun is a much better deal.

That must be it!

Gonna drive Tikka out of business lol.

sorry not $180, but $100 to $120 plus tax for a Tikka magazine.

Need to shop around a bit man. Over $100 for a Tikka mag is steep.

The feel I get from the Stevens was...Another fat bolt 3 lug design. Not really doing anything the others aren't except coming in with a wood stock and crazy cheap with a synthetic. Glockish creepy springy plastic trigger. Fat stock and receiver.

Thats pretty subjective though. If it works great, awesome, its a lot of rifle for the Stevens price tag. I'd go with the Ruger American Gen 1 in the same price bracket but again, subjective.

I've read the Tikka TX3 magazines do not fit the Steven's 334. Walnut stocks versions under $600.00 locally and Cabelas has the plastic stocks on sale for $450.00. I'm just wondering if there's a source for spare magazines?

Not too bad of price for the reviews it's been getting.

Nah, $450-$550 at Cabellas when they go on sale...the prices of the Turqua by comparison, same rifle, is nuts. Seen them at SFRC....crazy gouge there.
Not a Tikka killer at all, way heavier and blocky as hell. Maybe a better option then an Axis lol?

... and did you?
Or are you just blowing hot air as usual?
$90-$100 is about right for factory Tikka mags...also crazy.
Mag3ds are like $40 though...
All OEM plastic mags are ridiculous priced though, Xbolt, Ruger American, there is maybe 30 cents of plastic in there, yet Magpul can make pistol and rifle mags that retail for under $20...

I have no idea how they calculate their prices...

The "plastic" you mentioned is actually polymer, and feels very solid.

Lmao. Apparently more than you did. For over $100, I hope they at least come with a reacharound. Never had to pay $100 yet either.

I dunno how to say "highway robbery" in Finnish, but its criminal. And those Magpul mags are standing up to US Marines lol. Like to see who long a Ruger American mag lasts there.

If it costs more than $5 to make any of em I'd be amazed. Probably a very good business move, giving your rifle a plastic mag.

I like my Mag3D Tikka mag tho.

No kidding. If i ever get one, think I'll have to call it Rosie. As in "whole lotta". And people say a Weatherby Vanguard is a heifer.

Same ####, different name...
AICS plastic mags are solid, I have no complaints with those, MDT make nice ones in Canada as well, and they are half the price of most OEM proprietary mags.
OEM proprietary plastic mags are just a money grab for these companies. Hell even Sauer 100 mags are $67 at Epps, and that's a German company ffs, not Turkey or Finland...

You said in the other thread you received your Turquas from UPS yesterday, and after your range visit this morning you're proclaiming it a better deal than a Tikka at the same price? That must be one hell of a solid functioning and performing rifle... color me intrigued.

I haven't had a Turqua to handle or shoot and it may prove in the future to be a better rifle than the Tikka but I have some doubts.
A metric sh@t ton of shooters worldwide in all disciplines have proven the T3 to be an accurate and reliable rifle and one of the most successful designs of the past 30 years.
It would be a tall order at the present time for you and thunderhog to convince the CGN community otherwise. Kinda like going in dry with no lube.

I can't believe I just heaped that much praise on a T3 BTW, I find them quite hideous to look at but damn can they shoot right out of the box.

I'm curious to hear what you think once you get your digits on one

Even when they have some metal in em, which at least justifies some cost, they can still be dog turd.

Savage Axis mag is a $70 or more proposition now? Hot damn
