I have 2 Walnut ATA Turquas for hunting rifles. 243 and 6.5 C. The new style ones like the 334.
Best hunting rifles for hte money there is. Fibre sights, smooth action. Wicked accurate with multiple brands and weights of bullets.
These 334's are the same rifle without iron sights
Best budget rifles otu there imho.
I wouldn't touch the plastic ones. Just my opinion. I love wood.

Finally got my mitts on one in the wood stock, to examine anyway. Nice stock for the money. Nice everything for the money. She thicc. Not overly so but folks who like a hefty rifle will like it eh?
It doesn't seem any different or better or smoother than say a Browning AB3/Win XPR. Same deal. Full diameter bolt with keyslot down the body for the bolt stop, 3 locking lugs. Mags nice. Just cheaper than those others, which is cool. Smoothness/action is definitely not comparable to a Tikka IMO but for several hundred dollars less, don't care at all lol.
Trigger felt like a Glock. Long heavy spongy plasticky thing.
Looking forward to seeing/hearing how they hold up to long term use and high round counts!

To hold the stock, think of a CVA Cascade or a little thicker...or something about the profile of a Hogue or the HSI stock on a Howa Mini. Its pretty wide/square and she has some heft.
Besides the price, for the feel of the action I really don't see it as anything different from or above plenty of the other "round profile bolt, 3 lug" designs.
308 version was pretty much 8 lbs. Think they call it 7.8 in their literature.

No idea. Ive seen the plastic ones. All I know is both of mine have 3lb triggers, shoot lights out and are by far imho the best budget rifle out there.
They have a crapload here in the dealer section with new stocks. I paid $499 each for mine.
Best money I ever spent other than trading a new rem 783 243 ($300 clearance) - for a 1953 flat top Microgroove Marlin 336 30-30 with 29 bullets through since new.
Did that deal this week. Man what a score.
I have had zero issues with the plastic stock on my Axis (it is what it is) you got to go into the game knowing that your not going to get a top notch everything out of any budget rifle.
A walnut stock compared to plastic can go a long ways making a budget rifle feel less cheap. That’s what I liked when I handled these guns. Would not have even gave them a second glance if they were just another 600$ plastic rifle.
