If your rifle has already been altered from Original
as in even a rebore or reline , go ahead , you probably
will not devalue it any more than it is .

Stevens Favorite is a ''Take Down'' therefore the optics were mounted
using the existing sight ''Dove Tails''.

Where a shorter scope was to be mounted the barrels
may have been drilled for one or both Scope ''Blocks''.
They never covered the barrel stamps so if the mount
or block covers the barrel markings it was done after factory.

The last photo is of a 1934 after market mounted ''Lyman '' #442 , 4 power scope.
