Bought a 25/06 stevens today for a fun little gun from p&d,great helpful service. Also bought a leupold rifleman 4-12 scope to put on it..Got the 46 bases but the rifleman will not fit in the rings on this long action, scope tube is too short.Extension bases 402 are on the weaver site, would this solve the problem?????Scopes are giving me fits these days...

that is what those bases are for, but I'm not sure which one you use...

I am having a hard tiome picturing a 4-12 scope that will not fit on a 30-06 length action.

Are you sure you can't just swap ends on the #46 bases, so that botht he grooves in the base are closer to the action?

My 4-12 3200 fits, but wont fit for eye relief properly for shooting. I needed to buy some extension rings.
Clarke, the Actions on the savage are stupid long, and dont leave much room for movement
Go with a 1pc base, or extension ring/base. Either way... Its 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

HELL mine wouldn't fit on a 223 Short Action.

Hey Rob, action length is the same, but the 223's have a block to shorten the bolt throw distance. Correct me if Im wrong, but all of the 200's are built on the long action?
I've only had 110 series savages, no 10's

I did not know that. Thanks

I have installed 2 scopes on 2 Stevens, both BUshnell/B&L.

They fit fine wiht the bases turned inwards...Actually, you could probbaly get away with using backing the base over the action, and using only one screw int he base, with a bit of Locktite, in a modrate kicking rifle.

But that is not the best solution, for sure...
