Scope Mounting Woes...

Guess the "short scope tube" need for "extension bases" is only an issue with "long action" rifles. Seems I've had the same issue with a Rem 700 BDL .30-06 using Weaver bases... have to use a 40A front "extension base" to be able to get a "short tube" scope mounted. But on a "short action" the regular bases seem to work fine. :)

Planning on maybe getting a Stevens down the road to "play with". Was thinking of a 7mm-08 anyway... ;)
 
Got the 402 base and it worked great,scope fits good with just one extension base installed,now just have to find time to shoot this little guy!!Wring it out with my friends new 223 vangaurd should be fun!!
