Hi All Here is a question that I have been pondering everytime I load/unload the old girl. Is it possible on a stevens model 200 in 7mm rem mag to change from the nothing loading system to a magazine some how? Anyone heard of such a thing on a cheap rifle as such?

Thanks
Wes

It could well be convertible to the same mag system used on the Savage package guns with side mag release. FXCP or something like that.

Sell your Stevens, and buy a Savage with a clip. To attempt to locate the parts will cost more money than doing so, and if your talking one of the new single feed clips it may not even fit.

thanks guys.

I looked at the site and it is 70 some odd dollars for the conversion kit plus shipping I am sure. right on the verge of selling and buying one already done.

thanks

That is not for a conversion kit but for the mag itself. You still need to factory bottom metal, a stock inletted to fit, and an action with the appropriate bolt spacing.

I butchered a stock and parts trying to adapt the different bolt spacings - no go.

For the headache and cost, a new gen action WITH mag would have been so much better.

I have a new gen. action with center feed in .223 (top loader). I am hoping to get a hold of a new savage stock someone 'grew out of'. Either that or I am going to have to get MacGyver on it. it really can't be THAT hard with the bolt spacing issues gone... (crosses fingers)

If you have the correct gen action/blind mag stock, you can need to inlet for the bottom metal. I still have the one I 'played' with if you are interested. It needs a bit of TLC to return to orig. All the hardware still functions but the front metal was ground off to try and make it fit an old gen stock - no go.

Let me know...

Jerry
