I'm looking at two 20 ga. o/u shotguns, one is a brand new Boito the other is an almost new Stevens. The price on both is around $600.00, both have 26'' barrels and screw in chokes. So, which way should I go? I know the Boito is made in Brazil, where are the Stevens made? This gun is for my wife, she is training her pointer for field trials and is going to have to start shooting over him soon.

The Stevens is made in Turkey by I believe Kahn and by most reports they are a gun to stay away from. If you are wanting an entry level over/under, save a bit more and get a CZ made by Huglu or get a Yildiz. Better yet for the same money buy a nice condition used Browning, SKB, Beretta, Winchester101, or Charles Daly or even the Baikal IZ 27. Now I know some are going to say that the Stevens or Boito will be fine for training a dog or casual shooting. You also gotta look at when it comes selling time. You won't be able to give the Stevens or Boito away so in my opinion why settle for something that "will do" when for not much more you can have a better gun that will hold its value.
