It is too bad we cannot have these imported as restricted, hopefully the CSSA & NFA can champion a little change in Canada for some semi-auto variants only.

One can only dream......

Ignore the music, but you can see the advantages and versatility of the AUG series in it's newest model.

Umm no the augs are prohib by name so they will never come in unless we get the prohib class removed.

OIC prohib weapons order number 12. Oct 1, 1992. The firearm of the design commonly known as the Steyr AUG rifle, and any variant or modified version of it.

The prohib list is an eye opener for those that have not seen it. There are bolt action rilfes on the list, they maybe of a military desing but really no rifle isn't. Gives you another reason to join the nfa cssa and fight to not let it happen again.

Prohibited bolt actions? This true?

We need some of these guns off the Prohibited Class for sure in general!

I think a clear case can be made, and perhaps an order in council can be used for the opposite effect, not sure if that is legally possible or not.

But back on Topic.

I have little experience with any of the AUGs, I have played with them a little but they seemed like an awesome weapon system, i would prefer that over
a Tavor for the simple reason of all the R&D and recorded data they would have on that gun. Especially the new Aug A3 or A4 variants. One observation when briefly playing with the newer A3 was that the trigger did not strike me as bad compared to any AR Mil spec trigger.

I definetly would noty say Bullpups suck in any regard!

In the "looks" department it's right up there (actually on par) with the T97.

Gawd they're awful.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
I personally think the gun looks very ###y and extremely modern, I would also say it was way a head of the competition in many regards and is a real winner for big armies, there are drawbacks though but as optics/lazer/lights/NVG become more compact as the years go by, Iwould venture to say the lack of rail space becoming less of an issue. I wish they would make the mold on the AUG to come with a Case deflector though!

for me the TAVOR doesn't even come close, there is "something" about the AUG that I still love ... I've run the TAVOR and even tried to pull the trigger on buying it twice...just couldn't do it...not saying it's not an excellent gun, just not for me.

One of the reasons that i know the Aug is prohib, I want one so bad, man not only cool but a great rifle. I looked at one before they were prohib, they can be converted to right hand eject easy for lefty shooters, barrel swap is really easy, cool sleak lines. Awesome rifle. I didn't have the money to buy rifles when I was in high school by the time I had money they were all prohib.

The prohib list is one of the greatest injustices to the Canadian people in our entire history. It deemed that a persons property was illegal to own with a simple pen stroke. C-68 made provisions for even less red tape when it came to prohibing firearms.

The libs extended firearms time schedule, the first one called for full confiscation by the late 80's of handguns and semiautos but the pc's got in the way, then in the early 90's they wanted to confiscate or prohib all handguns and semi's before the end of the 90's but that was pushed back by the qoute "unexpected resistance by firearms owners". There have been several threads on cgn showing what the libs wanted to do going all the way back to 1977. You think your only fighting wc and her coalition ilk, but the true supporters of gun control in Canada go back more then 40 years.

Wanna see the aug and others in our hands again join the nfa or cssa, be vocal, go to gun shows, I had a table at the last chas gun show and had a blast. How many here have even looked at the prohib list, how many here have even talked to their mp about their firearms concerns? The real problem in Canada, is that people have been led to believe they are powerless when fighting the media or a precieved taboo subject.

I've had the chance to handle the MSAR STG E4 an Aug copy. It felt better than the more bulky Tavor. Trigger was also better. Hopefully Dlask will get the a o k from the RCMP.

Guys. To be more realistic. We are trying hard to fight those stupid RCMP by not even add more
on the prohibited list. Trying to get some name off the list sounds not to be realistic and impossible to me @@

Forget to mention stupid RCMP now trying even to put the Tavor
and FS2000 on restricted list just like the AR
and we are hoping that they can take AUG off the prohibed list ??@@
