Some Steyr M-A1's come with locking safeties that prevent the gun from being fired or dissasembled without the key to "unlock" the safety. Does anyone know if this constitutes a "secure locking device" for storage purposes?

I don't think so since it can be pressed in with your finger and turned.
The word "key" is used very loosely on this safety.

Ahhh, but you can get "real" trigger locks that take those 2-pronged 'keys' as well, and they seem to be fine for storage.

Not sure if you can turn the button with your finger - never tried it... I just ignore it, my Taurus has a one of those internal locks as well that would require a key for sure to lock/unlock but again I never use it.

I store my guns in a safe so I only use cable/trigger locks only when I go to the range.
