I recently got a long rifle m95, with a broken firing pin (would very lightly dent primers, came out in 2 pieces when I took the bolt apart). I bought 2 replacements from Marstar and I'm guessing they are just too short? When I drop one into the back of the bolt face the pin is flush with the surface, so I don't see any possible way it would impact a primer.
I took a look inside and there doesn't appear to be any gunk blocking the firing pin, and I can't force it any more through the hole. Anyone else experience this? I measured from the bottom of the ring to the tip of the firing pin and it is 0.715 inches, which from what I read here (http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=118063&view=previous) is too short by 0.04-0.06 inches.
Anyone else experience this and/or know anywhere else I can get a longer length firing pin (marstar is out)?
Things I checked: the ring near the tip of the firing pin is definitely touching the inside of the bolt face, and the firing pin tip itself easily passes through the front of the bolt face.
