Steyr m95 trainer?

Just saw a M95 rifle that had the top of the chamber milled out and the wood painted black.
Were these trainers or drill rifles?

I don't think these qualify as "dewat" as the receivers themselves are untouched.

I have a couple - barrels have a hole milled into them near the receiver and the bolts have been altered. Not Dewats - they are "registerable". A good course for parts or for restoration with a new barrel and bolt.
