Looking at buying one of these, just wondering if spare parts, mags etc are available in Canada. They dont seem all that popular, but i really like the way it feels in my hand. The sights are odd, but im told you get use to them. Any info would help greatly, thanks.

When I had one some 5 years ago they came out with a new extractor (mine was older style). I emailed Steyr Austria and they mailed me the part for free (got it pretty fast too).

I own an M9A1 and find there is no aftermarket stuff in most places. Not a common gun where dealers would stock parts.

When you do get yours I suggest that you add a plunger spring from a 1911 into the Steyr extractor to fix the failure to ejects (if you have any).

I emailed Steyr Austria about getting a replacement extractor and they forwarded me to the Canadian distributor North Sylva. They want me to send them my entire gun or just the extractor, plus my credit card number to pay for shipping.

Not nearly as friendly as all the stories I've read of people getting free upgraded extractors from Steyr Austria with free shipping.

so what did you end up doing? sounds like a local gun smith might be cheaper. a fellow CGNer sent me a free plunger spring from a 1911 and I managed to install spring myself with nothing but a scribe. lucky i didnt scratch the crap out of my slide.

Going to send them my gun once my range membership expires. Leaving the country for a year so I would like it fixed before I sell it.

I have one......hard to find the 9mm mags.....in the USA - not so much
