It looks like the Pro Hunter Series from Steyr is being discontinued. It is too bad since they were excellent rifles. Bought a 300 win mag a few years back and with it's 25.5 inch barrel it shoots as well is my 30-06 Tikka which is a real tack driver. The dealer where I bought mine has one left in .270 Winchester and it has a 25.5 inch barrel. It is a heavy rifle but not too much so that it is a burden to carry I would say it is just about right for a magnum rifle. They take Remington scope bases and the mag is over-sized where you can get very a long OCL for those Berger vld bullets. Very well designed rifle sorry to see them go. That being said I think I will pick up that .270 I am pretty sure it will end up being a perfect long range deer rifle.
