Got my wife gift today and since, i like to experiment, i decided on a 1.25X8X32 Bushnell 6500 (had 2 left from my fall shopping)...
Now this scope is very special du to the 6 inch eye relief, now if you go the scout way you need a low powered scope of 2.5X with 9 inch min eye relief and if you put a scope the traditionnal way 3-4 inch eye relief...
I am trying that configuration, no danger for extraction, they just go 180 degrees out and the bolt is 3/4 inch clearance...
I bet this set up will be great for aquisiton and LR... JP.

didn't by chance get it at Al Flaherty's did you ?, I was there Wednesday night, and there was a fellow there picking one up. (not a real common rifle)

No my wife bought it for me from Epps last friday, they are not very common ( this Steyr stuff is sooo sweet), that why when one pop up, it usually get bought very fast... JP.

The test target supplied with the rifle show a 3 shots group of .6 @ 100 metres with 168 gr Hornady TAP, loads of fun ahead... JP.

Very cool rifle, caramel...I've had one for years and will never sell it. I'd like to get a variable-power scout scope for it, but that optic of yours looks interesting as well. The loading/ejection port is not completely clear as in a true scout set-up, but at least the turret is not blocking access to it at all...sort of a "semi-scout". I remember when LeBaron had those scopes on sale recently...if I had noticed the eye-relief specification I would have grabbed one myself.

Do you have a picture with the Hi-Lux mounted? I've been curious to see how it looks on a "sporting" rifle.

Actually after mounting both, i am not sure wich one will be the backup, this Hilux is so clear and fine reticule that it is the equal of a more high powered scope, will decide that after a good range session, here you go with the Hilux... JP.

Remember that sale with the 75.00 voucher plus the price was 370.00 a piece in special, i could not resist, an i bought 5 of those, actually i ran them out of stock, one of the best deal of the year as the real price after the voucher was 295.00 all in for each, still have one left brand new and 4 of my rifles are wearing one... JP.
