So not quite what I envisioned at first, but the hog action is close and fast here and the Whiteys are very lightweight to what I’m used to in BC, let alone the big Sask bruisers....

I’m a little torn on if I should get the 20” barrel instead, but I handled this at my LGS and it is a handy, lively little thing. Thought I’d top it with a Leupold 2.5-8 x 36mm, gonna send down my 7RM for the true beanfield stuff, but with this rifle and some practice I’d say your solid out to 350yds+....... .308 with a 10rd. Mag with sub moa accuracy guarantee c/w a cool looking twisted barrel.

If my greatest concern is "close and fast" animals, then a very short barrel is the last thing I want to be carrying. They are too easy to swing past the exact spot you are trying to hit. On the other hand I certainly don't need a long barrel either.

Carried a 20 inch 375 H&H while guiding up here, and it swung an pointed like an extension of my arm. After handling it, several of my friends did the same with 338 Win Mags.

You won't regret getting the 20 inch model.

Are you buying this for use in Texas? Why not a semi if so? If close and fast is the plan, not having to work a bolt sounds like an advantage?

Yes, I appreciate that. Why I didn’t come home with it yet....

Yes Sir, but I’ve been trying to find a DBM BAR for over two months, to no avail. The only AR’s that I can get my hands on are all $3K plus firearms. Crazy times, that’s why I was kinda entertaining a fast cycling bolt with a excellent rep for stellar accuracy.....

Gotcha! I guess it depends on how much you think Trump will win then - If he wins the demand will dry up shortly after and you'll be able get whatever you want...
