STG-44 .22...... Yes or no?

I like mine, it shoots well, the mags feel like they will last and it is heavy like a real gun should be. The bonus is when you are out hunting small game you'll scare the heck out of the antis.

They are heavy, terribly cold to hold in winter and are a PITA to throughly clean. The rear sight will be set to 700M to hit the bullseye at 50M...

But I like mine...just don't do much trail plinking with it

I don't own one, I've never fired one, but I have fondled a few at gun shops. Based on that (which isn't much) they strike me as being extremely heavy/unruly/expensive for a 22 you basically have to shoot off-hand. 10/10 on the "cool" scale however. I think the same company offers an MP40 clone (or will) but I suspect that will never make it's way to Canada. THAT gun (probably guilty of the same issues) would be difficult for me to resist.

Oh my goodness, I held one from a friend, and fell in love with it right away, love the size and how it feels once the sling is added on. To clean it is almost a dream from other .22's, my only grip is the plastic buffer inside behind the bolt. Shoots low but with the rear sight adjust so good to go. This is a heavy rifle and the pistol grip is quite larger than most rifles and made of wood and metal.
