STG 44 - SCOPE Question LER

Is a long eye relief scope required or can you use the regular eye relief of 4.0" I tried the Vortex scout but I couldn't seem to get the focus and cross hairs right.

One option is a 2.5-3x power Konus scope (http://blog.cheaperthandirt.com/scoping-stg44-22/). Also some people use a Redfield 2x7 Battlezone or Specter DR. Actually you can buy a dedicated scope mount for the StG 44 from Blue Line Solutions: http://blsolutions.ca/gsg-schmeisser-stg-44-scopemount/.
