You guys crack me up,#####ing about the fact it will be restricted,be glad someone is bringing the damn things in at all. What's next countless posts about turning them into AK lookalikes? :puke:

Don’t worry know one is going to buy them remember because they are not chambered in 7.62x39. :bangHead:

If I did my ms paint math correctly, this is what a non-restricted version would look like compared to the original.

Original Above, Non-Restricted below:

I myself barely see the differnce between the two barrell lengths. It would so be worth it to have a version like this. (if it fired .223 I'd be in heaven)

You people are like fat slobs in the trailler park being given a ferrari and asking where you plug in your toaster oven and microwave.

LOL

I think for something this specialized (and therefore pricey), if you start making mods off the original, it kind of defeats the purpose. There are many other rifles that will do what you want for a lot cheaper.

I agree with Scarecrow on this one, you get a chance to own a historically accurate reproduction of the first "true" assault rifle for less than $15,000 and you get your regular slew of morons that could not afford it in the first place proclaiming they'd only buy a .308 version.

Absolutely, I think the whole concept of what is being offered here is being lost on a few people.

Go buy a $199 SKS and you'll be happier than a pig in ####!

I got a hard on for reloading Kurz.

What's next, people wanting a P08 Luger in .44-40 because it's the same cartridge as their huntin' lever gun?

I was never against the fact it will be restricted or in a more inexpensive cartridge. I'm getting my restricted next weekend so that isnt a problem for me. Though, as Blistex points out that its not very much more length for a non-restricted barrel. Maybe later if there is more call for it they will produce a longer barrel. Though I'm not waiting on it.

I don't think some of the criticism of people here is warranted. At least not the the point of calling them fat slobs in a trailer park (or likening them to it) is right. Sure its rather silly to want it in 7.62x39 as it isn't feasible, but some people could barely afford the rifle itself let alone the ammo. Some would say thats a sign that they shouldn't buy the rifle or to get the .22LR ver.

Also, some people don't have their restricted and don't want the hassle of having to only bring it to the range when its not a huge difference to make a slightly longer barrel.

I for one am very pleased they are bringing in these rifles at all, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I will be interested to see what percentage of the owners take them out shooting, regardless of the availability of ammo or components.

Are the bores chromed? What finish are they going to be in? Which wood is being used for the stocks on the models coming to Canada? Which parts are interchangeable and which are not?

Shooting it would be the purpose of buying it, as 12.2, 12.3 and 12.5 are wall hangers now.
It's not a collectable, it's a new made repro.
If you want a wall hanger, buy a dewat.
If it's out of your price range, buy an SKS.

Heh,

If it was non-restricted, in 7.92x33K, it'd be legal for hunting in Nova Scotia.

Wouldn't the CO sh** a brick if he was wandering up and saw that thing!

(rifles with a caliber less than .24 are not allowed to be used when deer hunting in NS)

I want one since it is a next to authentic version of a historical item -- yeah I'll likley fire it - since I dont own stuff I dont shoot (maybe I will learn when I am older...)

I don't see the point (as many other posters have mentioned) into "bubba'ing" it into something its not.

This is a piece of history - not a toy to go run out in your diaper and bump fire.

I'll take the ferrari, but only if I can get it with an american made big block V8.

NO, it is not. Its a reproduction, facsimile, representation of a piece of history.

The design, internal mechanisms and innovative ergonomics are what make this a piece of history even if it is a repro, providing that the manufacturer follows the original technical drawings closely.
