I have a NICE new STG44/22. Included in the deal was a scope mount that mounts forward over the front site. (after removal). I was pondering a scope in lower power but was wondering if I need to look for a scout scope as I suspect I will need the added eye relief. If not I will have to go the red dot solution.
So I was wondering if anyone has scoped their STG 44 and if so what options would you recommend. I prefer a scope as I do not need to where my glasses but do with the red dots.

Thanks in advance.

One option is a 2.5-3x power Konus scope (http://blog.cheaperthandirt.com/scoping-stg44-22/). They are quite inexpensive within a $80-100 range. I guess that even Tasco would do the job. I also bought my StG 44 with a scope mount but removed it and installed the original rear sight. I shoot my StG 44-22 up to, say, 50 yards max. so can still do with iron sight. The scope mount I just keep in case when I really need it. This is my StG 44-22. Absolutely great shooter. I bought it on impulse, slightly used, and never looked back.
