STI 1911 mag catch issue.

Hi gents!

Recently I started to have problems with my STI Trojan 1911 ( .40cal ) mag catch. The pistol probably has no more then 1500 rounds to it. It comes loose and the screw blocks the assembly to function properly.
I know how to remove it and to instal it. When I re-install the whole thing it works no problem. Then after a few ( 10-15 ) mag changse, the little screw does move and turn slightly and it get stuck again and the mag will no longer lock in place when inserted. Very annoying. For any competition this could be a nightmare. Suggestions? I am using cobra mags and they function very very well in general.

20 buck replacement from Freedom Arms - Sean'll look after you. For competition don't screw around with trying to find a five dollar fix....change it out and be done.

Ha well yes. You are right.

I have to say. I contacted STI and about 10 minutes later I got a reply form the tech asking to call him. WOW. Explained the fix to me ( file the screw head sharp edges ) and offer me to send me a replacement. I have to say that is some great customer service. Seems to work great but I will give Freedom a call.
