What is the difference between the regular and slim magwells. Will both meet IDPA/IPSC regulations in terms of the "box" and the width of the magwell itself?

I assume the slim fits flush with the frame, while the regular may bulge out slightly (similar to the 2011 magwells).

Gun is a STI Spartan V.

Cheers,
Chris

Guns with thin grips look horrible with standard width magwells, they stick out at the bottom of the gun, so they came up with magwells to match grips.

"Regular" magwells match the thickness of regular 1911 grips, while "slim" magwells match the thickness of the 1911 thin grips.
Neither - when mated with the correct grips - stick out like a 2011 magwell.

Both are fine for IPSC; I don't know about IDPA - but I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.

For a Spartan V - assuming you never changed the grips - the appropriate magwell would be a regular one.

perfect!

i have the factory grips on there now, and will be putting some VZ Operator IIs shortly. Ill just make sure to get the full size grips and not their slim ones.

Thanks

So what would be the best recommended magwell for a Trojan..
