Sti ar

Handled but never shot them. Seems like a very good value. Really nice trigger, barrel has promising specs. They have few 'tactical' features, but it is an AR so you can always change that....

Me and two of my buddies all shoot STI AR's. Seriously, they are one of the more underappreciated rifles.

Shawn at Freedom Ventures can set you up with one. For $1500 you get a great AR with an awesome comp and amazing JP trigger group. STI promotes the handguards as well, but those are just semi-decent IMO. These rifles are quite light too, very easy to move around when runnin' and gunnin'

If you buy one, you won't be unhappy with it.

The only thing I changed was the stock, but Lonewolf here on CGN prefers the fixed length stock that comes with it.

I changed only the A2 grip for a Miad and the charge handle for an extended one, I kept the A2 stock and am really happy with it. I took the tactical handguard to have the rail on the gas block so I can eventually put a backup sight if I want one.

It's a ready to run, highly competitive IPSC rifle/CQB/service rifle/three gun rifle. Mines been stone reliable (I torture test all my toys), accurate (.8-.9 moa with cheap blasting 55gr handloads), The JP trigger is excellent, the rifle is quite light (I don't over swing as much when engaging multiple targets that are widely spaced). Mine wears a collapsible stock (different disciplines, different preferred lengths of pull) and a single point sling adapter. I WAS going to have another custom AR built when the STI's were brought to my attention. The spec is almost exactly what I wanted to build but for dramatically less money, I couldn't say no. Why more people don't have these I'll never know. Guys are constantly commenting on the speed, trigger, and (most of all) accuracy of my STI, yet I rarely see another one. For me, the next step up would be a JP Enterprises CTR.
