But my other point is that VihtaVouri recommends 1.126" OAL for all of there load data including for N320.
 
I had same issue with my tanfoglio stock 2 the bullet would hit the rifling prematuraly ,but would cycle in any onther gun with no issues
That happened with Zero bullets 124gr
Chaged to Campro and dropped OAL to 1.110 now it runs flawlessly

But N320 is faster burning and except for lead bullets, No data is published for 180g bullets. I've looked closely at my problem and OAL isnt the problem neither is the chamber. Its seems some of the bullets I'm reloading are Non concentric meaning the bullet isn't seating straight.

So if anybody knows why my reloading machine is doing that, I'd love to hear suggestions. I'm using a Dillon 650 with Dillon carbide dies.
 
I was assuming that your Edge wont even run reliably to a factory load, so now its only your handloads,. with regards to your new findings, better contact dillon if your using their dies.
 
Check all the rim cutouts in there shell plate, some might have a build up that is not letting the rim go all the way in for proper alignment.
 
I had a similar issue with my Trojan.

It was the bullet seat/crimp die. I crimp with a separate die and no problems.

The STI chamber is tighter than other 1911's I have. Likely a reason for that. Not blaming the gun.

Yeah, I'm taking it all apart today a resetting everything, I've never had problems with it before... we shall see
 
Got my Edge from Sean last spring. My match load is 5.3 of VV N320 at 1.180" with Campro 180 gr TC. I load on a Dillon SD. It should give you close to 1000 fps. 2000 rounds so far, no issues.
 
Are you belling the case mouth enough? Also is your seating die in the right configuration. If it's in round nose function maybe flip it to the wadcutter. If it's in wadcutter just reverse to round nose. Where it is hitting the projectile it could potentially be flattening out the round depending on how the bullet lands on the case. Or maybe you have gunk inside the seating die that needs to be cleaned out. Just thinking outside the box.

many ipsc guys load .40 for sti, up to 1.190 with no issues.. I only go to about 1.175 like you stated in OP.
I hope you figure it out and get a blastin !

Not at the prices they go for now... Holy crap. I had 3 of them and bought them all for under 4500$. Now at close to 7000$ plus taxes... No way.

The problem is almost solved. Lots of the bullets were not seating straight in my reloading machine. The tiny bulge created the problem. COAL had nothing to do with it. I Had as many bullets not fit at 1.125 that I had at 1.185 or longer. I bought a Redding competition seater die and now most of the rounds fit. I still feel the STI chamber is a little tight. I have spoken with a gunsmith who will look at it and see if it needs a bit of relief or polishing.
