any thoughts or preferences? STI has one, as does CR (?) the "Snakeskin" extended release?

on the standard gun it's dangerous when you pick-up the gun from the table....on the open I used them because my have slide racker on one side and gizmo on the opposite side to hold the gun way off from the table....

I had one with triangular paddle but took it off. Too easy to press with my left palm. If I did use one I would have just ground the pad off. This leaves you with a extention only...less to accidently push.

On my gun's I used the round one from Dawson......and my tender half used some paddle (toward the back)I bought them from Jos#$ don't know who actually made them....I have one STI for me but I keep bumping it when I was practicing (don't forget I'm L/H, w/left side mag release)so I when back to the round one, work well.....and I used a heavy spring now.

I think the extension going back so my thumb can hit it easily is what I need. I should probably dremel out some material so my thumb can reach easier as well.

I had the problem of hitting the extended paddle type and the oversize button types whether picking up the gun or with my grip.
I switched to the Ed Brown button which extends the mag release but isn't much bigger in diameter than the release itself. Much less accidental dropping of mags has occurred since.

I have an Ed Brown button on my SVI,its just big enough to easily hit,but Ive never dropped a mag accidentally.

I also have a Dawson ice magwell,it keeps the gun raised enough for a start from a table that its impossible to drop the mag when picking up the gun

I use to have an STI extended mag release in my STI Edge. I took it out after few matches. My grip tends to push on it while shooting resulting in dropping my mags during stages... Also, I have the same experience as Dansy.... the mag release sometimes is getting pushed and releases the mag catch when picking up the gun from the table.....
For some shooters... it might work to their advantage having an extended mag release, but in my opinion and in my case.. It does not really give me any advantage using it...... It was more of a DISADVANTAGE because of the things it caused me while I had it installed in my gun. Just my 2-cents :)
