STI - Fiber optic sight rod size?

What diameter fiber optic sight rod does the STI Spartan V use? Is replacing it as simple as the razor blade/cigarette lighter method shown on YouTube?

I just measured mine with calipers and it is 1.5mm

Mines a bit dim too, but haven't bothered replacing it. I usually end up making things worse.

I replaced the red FO rod on my Spartan .45 with green and it seems to show up better if there is decent light. I got my FO rod from www.fiberopticproducts.com/Flourescent.htm in Callifornia. Had it shipped to my alternate Bellingham address, but I don't think it would be that expensive to ship to Canada if sent USPS.
