Sti gp6

I have the GrandPower K100 and it is by far my favourite. It's accurate, reliable, and the rotating barrel makes for easy to control recoil. Also, it's got a very very short trigger reset which makes for quick follow up shots.

My only beef is the safety, I would like it to click into place firmly. Other than that minor gripe, I absolutely love the gun.

STI GP 6 Range Report

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Proximity has its benefits ,the GP 6s have arrived and having helped pick up the order at the airport have got my hands on one and made it to the range for a test firring. The guns right out of the box all had 8 lb double and 4 lb single trigger pulls ,fit and Finnish are good and very consistent with all the guns we looked at.

At the range shooting practice ammo 147 frontiers over 3 gr clays the gun grouped constantly at around 4" 10 rd groups at a full 25 yards resting on the bench no bags or rest.Having read some of the other reviews on line i was interested to see if the rotating barrel made any difference in the recoil impulse and was very surprised how fast i could shoot multiple shots on target .Shooting a full mag at 25 yds as fast as i could 75 % of all hits were in the A with all hits on Target the gun tracked straight up and down .

Part of this is the very short trigger reset ,less than an 1/8 of an inch .Not having a belt set up yet i fond that reloads were very easy ,the mag tunnel has a long taper allowing for fast insertion of the mags.

I had been waiting to see if the gun would be competitive in production and know have made up my mind to shoot it for next years season .

Can the gun do .25-.30 A zone splits at 15 yds?

I have used a GP6 for 2 years, and the K100 for a year prior to that. I just love the design. The recoil is very tame using 147 gr Frontiers over 3.5 gr VV N320.

The single action reset has to be experienced to be believed. It's very short and crisp. The single action trigger is excellent out of the box, and works in even better.

Prior to the GP6C coming out, I upgraded to the fiber optic sight, Dynamic fixed rear sight, and the large button mag catch. Now the C model comes with it all and an adjustable rear. Have to confess, I don't like the adjustable rear.

An added bonus, if you take it as one, is the lock up on the last shot. It has never failed to lock open on an empty mag, but it also closes when seating a loaded mag. When I can't avoid locking open, I know I won't have to waste time racking the slide.

I shot my own gun back to back with Musky Hunters SP01 using the exact same ammo. To my hands, the SP01 had a harsher recoil feel. The rotary barrel lock up seems to result in a softer feeling recoil impulse.
PM if you have any more questions.
