Anyone own one of these?

I'm strongly considering this to be my 1911. Either this or a plain old Colt 1911 Government or Military issue, older the better. I would love a Canadian issue Colt.

Well Max,
A 1911 is a good pick.
STI's are well built, have a great sight picture and the trigger is superb.
If you want to lighten the trigger,a smith can do it and no extra parts are needed.
STI is built with quality parts.
Colts are my favourite, but if you want an older Colt military issue, you're having smaller sights and you are definitely going to have
a heavier trigger than the STI.
What are you going to do with the pistol?
If you plan to do a lot of shooting,I'd pick the STI.
If I had a nice military Colt,I'd be less likely to be wringing it out at the range.
You have picked two pistols that are both 1911's but they are kind of at different ends of the spectrum.

I have an STI lawman 5.0 in 9mm got it in January. Great gun, Im almost at 5k rounds through it, once I roll over 5k rounds Im going to be posting a full detailed review. Having said that Id fully endorse getting it, I have or have had 1911's from Kimber, Springfield and STI, and have a good amount of time around the Remington R1 and Ruger SR1911, two of my friends that I shoot with regularly have them. The STI exceeds all of the above examples in fit, finish and build quality, though it was more expensive than the others mentioned as well, in some cases literally double the price.
