who has one? How do you like it? Is it worth the price? It is STI, so it should be excellent. I've seen them on Freedom Venture's website.

Anyone load the .40s&w down to 9mm levels? I see a load for .40 for a 135 grain bullet to leave the muzzle at 1171fps. My current 9mm load has a 125grn going 1172fps. I am sure the recoil would be the same. Input?

Why not use the heavier bullet (as in 180gr) and save on powder?
You will also, in my opinion, have a little less recoil to handle using heavier bullets (with same PF as your light bullets)

For sure, totally agree. Lighter bullets are hard to find and it looks like a 180 or 165 loaded to a pf of 130 is about 700 to 800 fps. I'm looking at an edge, but from what I gather, I'll need to swap out for a lighter recoil spring.

I shot one, quite nice and I liked the finish better than an other STI that I have seen or own. Only thing I dislike is the novak sights, they sit really high compared to a bomar

180gr .40 minor loads feel too sluggish for me, however 155 and 165 bullets are easily available and would give a nice feel. (I use 147 in 9mm)

Yes excellent point you brought here, while novak sights may be better for duty or defence, bonar/lpa style is what you want to compete.
I ran classic minor for 12K+ rounds with a gun that had novaks, hard to fit in the box and not quite as nice to aim with than bomars

So, another pistol I saw that would be a nice single action 9mm is the tanfoglio limited custom extreme. So, people say 1911's are temperamental, how about the tanfo's? I suppose any tight tolerance pistol will be "temperamental", but anyone have first-hand experience?

I love my Tanfo. I have a Match and Stock. Gone get a Limited some time.

Are your tanfo's tempermental, like people 'claim' 1911's are?

Not at all. I have a Limited Custom. The things a tank and weighs a ton. Accurate as hell with that bull barrel and comes from the factory drilled and tapped for the old gas pedal, which in Standard was key for me.
Best semi I've owned to date, very impressed.

Okay, so it is a bull barrel? I wasn't sure what they meant when they said 'coned'. Is there a 'bushing' supporting the barrel? I have a cz shadow, and the shadow has the 'bushing' as part of the frame.

The STI website states it is a bushing barrel gun. Picture looks like a bushing barrel gun. Maybe Sean can sort this out for us?

Sti has been known to use both on the same model but this model is relatively new and i have only seen it with a bushing
