STI Ranger II

sti ranger 2 is a great gun, seen a couple of them at the club and they seem to shoot well and are well made, the best thing buying off gunnar is to get him to do the trigger before he mails it out.
 
I've got the RangerII in .45ACP. Fantastic 1911 - way better (fit & finish + design improvements) than the series 80 colt i used to have. The blueing in the grip area wore off fast though...

Have a look at the Dan Wesson 1911's. If I had the cash and was looking for another 1911, the bobtail commander from Dan Wesson would be it. Same price range too...
 
STI Trojan / Ranger II are great guns that suffer from weak finish.

I had my 9mm Trojan re-blued - it eats anything and is very accurate. One of my favorite guns at the moment.
 
Top notch 1911 you'll love the Ranger II.

As mentioned the finish isn't the strongest ever, but it doesn't chip away or anything stupid like you might experience with a Para. it just fades around the grip area after some time. Who cares though, small price to pay for a deadly reliable 1911.
