STI Tactical 4.15 - I think I'm in love.

I'm considering a blowout of all my lesser toys to buy and shoot a Tactical .40 in Standard Div IPSC.

Please speak up if you've got one, joys and woes.

How does she shoot factory loads (can't afford a press yet)

Any issues right out of the box?

What mags and speed rig do you use with it?

Dont know about that model but i have a STI Ranger in 9mm and love it.

While it's gotta be one of STI's coolest guns, the 4.15 Tactical is not as good as it's 5" brothers for Standard division. Jim and I hoped that the shorter barrel would equate to quicker transition times, but when we tested 5" guns alongside the 4.15 - and the recoil was significant enough that any quicker target to target time was negated by dealing with the increased recoil.

Of course, anytime you want to try any of these things, let me know. You've done enough favors for me, let me help you back. I might also have something you'd be interested in along this gun line...;)

I hear what you're saying with reduced felt recoil on the longer gun, but the 5' Tactical loses the "square nosed" mean streak look that the Edge and other STI's have. I really think that look, call me superficial, adds character.

I'd get an Edge, but when the zombies come, where will I mount my tactical laser light attachments :D
