I just bought a new STI Trojan SS pistol in 9mm for the better half. Have 6 genuine Hi Performance STI mags with the new gun. The problem is the mag follower has a tab on it that is suppose to lift the slide stop after last round. Instead it slips above the slide stop protrusion and gets stuck there.
It catches so hard in there I broke 2 of the mag follower tabs off pulling them out.
These mags also don't lock the slide open after the last round fired.
I wish I lived closer to Prince George!!!

Any suggestions???

That's odd, I only have one of the stock STI 9mm magazines for my Trojan (the one it came with) and I never had any problems with it, but it does feel flimsy. I decided to order a few 10 round magazines from Tripp and they work flawlessly and feel well belt to last.

Its Fixed

I figured it out!
The mag follower has a dog leg hanging down to lift the slide stop at last round. On all 6 mags this leg was bent in to much, so instead of lifting it, it slid up on top of the slide stop and stuck there, firmly. 5 different other 1911 45acp mags worked in said gun, holding the slide open, so I knew it wasn't the gun.
So being a welder I heated the unbroken 4 and bent them out 40 thou farther, it worked.

Now all I need is two new followers to replace the 2 broken ones. I silver soldered the broken ones but I can't bend them out or they will snap again. whew!
