STI Trojan- A Question

Ceezer answered your question. To expand, you only shoot against those in your Division and your skill level as evidenced by your scores in shooting the classififer. If you like the 1911 platform in .45acp go for it. YOu wil compete in CDP at your skill level. Have fun and enjoy. The Trojan in .45acp is very competitive in CDP and will serve you well.

Take Care

Bob

Thanks for the info Ceezar & Bob! The more I find out about it, IDPA sounds better and better.

The weakest point of my Trojan for sure. I bought the gun used and it was worn quite a bit, and I found it to be "thin". I buffed and re-blued it shortly after acquiring it.
I like good looking guns as much as the next guy but this reminds me of my buddy who had only one competition gun at the time, not that he couldn't afford more, just his preference.

He added all the usual prerequisite competition parts onto his blued Series 80 MKIV Colt Gold Cup without reblueing after fitting. He had the mangiest, sorriest looking pistol on the competition circuit, and a very impressive collection of "1st Place - Champion" trophies. People would actually be talking about his pistol, but with respect.

Eventually was picked as a factory shooter for a firearms manufacturer so the Gold Cup had to be retired.

The Trojan is a lovely pistol, I was tempted but Champagne tastes and draft beer income forced me to trade my series 70 Colt in for a Spartan; bought from Gunnar at Armco. The sights and action on the Spartan are flawless; and Gunnar does do a fantastic job on trigger pull.

I'm too cheap to buy a Trojan 1911.

Might think about a Spartan, though.
