I have a chance to trade my Super Redhawk 44 mag c/w scope plus my Remington 870 fold-down for a STI Trojan SS in 40 cal. All pieces are like new. I have a 45 ACP 1911 series 80 colt SS and just love it. Is the STI as good a pistol as the colt and do you think the trade is fairly egual in value?

The STI is a far better 1911 then the Colt 80 series.....they are about $1200 new.
It's up to you if you think it's a fair trade.

Those Trojans are smooth as silk. What barrel length are you looking at? I'm not sure about your trade value, but those Trojans are worth every penny.

My .02 Cents...

I'm a Colt man without a doubt.... [Well, except maybe when it comes to the Series '80 1911's...] And I literally can't stand the "Trojan" logo on the side of the STI pistols for sure. But there's no question that the STI is a way better pistol than any Series '80 Colt. But as Hitzy said, it's really up to you if it's a fair trade for your Ruger with scope & 870 SG for the STI .40 cal pistol. ;)

I have a STI Lawman. Lived with a couple Colts all my life, STI beats them hands down. Won't comment on the trade, but so far as to the quality of the STI you won't be dissapointed.

The Trojan Stainless Steel has only been out of the factory for a couple months and is only available in 45ACP.

You are looking at a hard chromed Trojan there.

Not that there's anything wrong with that - just want you to be sure you understand what you're being offered.
