Hi everyone,

I'm debating a new pistol and am looking for some ideas as to what you would recommend I look at. I currently have a M&P 9 Pro, and a STI Trojan 6.0 9mm, and a few 22lr's. I'm looking for a non-tupperware pistol in 9mm. I'm quite fond of a well tuned 1911 trigger, and would be looking for the same level of trigger in this new pistol.

I'm looking for a standard length pistol...no long slides or commander length.

My initial debate is between a new STI Trojan 5" (to pair up with my existing 6"), a CZ Shadow, and a CZ Shadowline. What are people's thoughts on these? Any other pistol you think I should be considering?

Thanks everyone,
Cal.

If you want a CZ with a well tuned trigger then consider the Tactical Sport.

I have a Trojan & a shadow , both excellent , you can get very sym trigs on both , the shadow has double/single & cocked & locked , so it all depends on your end use . adj sights on the Trojan & with some smith work can probably be made to shoot the tighter groups , of the 2 , if it doesn't already .

Good to know. Having not shot either model this was a point of debate for me.

Thanks,
Cal.

Welcome, see if you can find a couple of folks who have them and try it..

My test was assesing the trigger pull of both at the store and did not find enough difference to justify the extra expense..

I feel I made the right choice but no doubt would have liked the more expensive model for bragging rights :)

That's a pretty interesting rig you've got there! Is that a 5" barrel? Any idea who has the Tactical Sport 9mm in stock? I've been looking at Shadows mainly, but haven't come across a TS yet.

EDIT: Could you tell me a bit about that rear sight you have mounted?

Thanks,
Cal.

Yes, 5" barrel. I don't know who has them in stock. I think the distributor is waiting arrival for more.
The TS takes the same mags as the Checkmate model and the trigger out of the box was 1 lb. 10 oz. single action only.
I use to be a 1911 fan until these showed up. This thing is a tack driver.
Vortex Razor Red Dot with CZCustom TS Slide Racker.

Damn...she's a beauty. May I ask how much the pistol set you back? And the optic?

Thanks,
Cal.

New it was around $1300 + red dot $500.
I have a feeling the new ones that will come in will be higher in cost. Even the Shadows have gone up.
I did have a Shadow which I liked very much, but since sold it when I found the TS.

Trojan if you want to do Classic Division, Shadowline for Production Division. Both pistols are good. My buddy has a Trojan. Trigger is crisp but SA only. I have an SP01 Shadowline which is SA/DA and a very popular Production Class pistol.

Last time I was in cabelas nanaimo they had them in stock. That was awhile ago though. If your shooting in competition keep in mind your looking at several difference divisions.
