Sticky: How to remove Tavor Trigger spring with barrel of monkey

"factionrr" Challenge: can you remove a Tavor Trigger spring with 1 monkey from barrel of monkey's

Challenge status: Accepted.

Objective: The Tavor trigger pull can seem quite heavy, so to "enhance" the smoothness and ease of the trigger pull a spring maybe removed.

Step 1: push both pins back to release the trigger pack:



Step'2: with the trigger pack removed. Pull the sear forward to release the hammer.

Step 3: with the hammer released, notice the spring. Lift the spring, on the sear side the monkey just released.

Step 4: remove the pin holding the other side of the pin in place. If you have chubby monkey hands this may require a nail. It does not seem to matter from which side you push it through.



Your monkey should now be holding the pin in one hand and spring in the other:

Step 5: replace the pin so you don't lose it!

Step 6: replace the trigger pack.

Step 7: Can I please have all the hyper critical people who want to criticize the monkey trigger fix stand up for a round of applause.

Step 8: Open fire!!

AD or accidental discharge, not to be confused with ED.

Ahhhh yes here we go;

The spring was added to pass the IDF drop test

I was told by an engineer at IWI that it was added because the gun was failing a rather grueling high drop (6m?) test at the IDF.

Forgot where I seen that for a second. Seems to be a rather grueling drop requirement, but there for a reason none the less.

From what I've read it is to ensure the trigger resets in extreme circumstances. This seems outside my needs, don't hate me but I'm a fair-weather shooter...

Haha.. Ok, we'll do it when I'm in BC with factionrr. Factionrr is already working on having the monkeys lift the Tavor up then release the Tavor to test for AD.

It's really straight forward, the ##### of it is the pin is really tough to get out, I had to use a hammer and nail!

Have you thought of replacing the trigger linkage bar using a number of plastic plastic monkeys, hand linked together.
I wonder if it would improve the trigger pull any?

That's my fault, I think I was having some wine and thought this would make a great sticky post.... The wine may have also influenced the idea of, "a monkey can remove that spring"...

Single most impressive "free" upgrade ive ever done. Changes the trigger entirely. Night and day difference. From terrible to not bad at all. Can't wait to test it on the range tomorrow.
