I purchased a Remington 700 BDL SS in 30-06 and putting the safety into safe position is smooth, when putting into fire position its stiff.
I haven’t tried cleaning yet, but was wondering if it’s a known issue with these older triggers?

Do it your self tip...once a year remove barrelled action from stock... flood trigger mechanism with lighter fluid, blow it out with high pressure air... do that a few times while also working the trigger and safety back and forth. If the lighter fluid doesn't do it - same procedure but try lacquer thinner a few times ending up using lighter fluid... the residue from the lighter fluid is all the lubrication required in the trigger assembly. A little grease on the indents for the 'ball' holding the safety on or off...

Ok, thoroughly cleaned with lighter fluid and an old toothbrush. Done this numerous times with high pressure air between cleans.
Also noticed the “C” clip that holds the ball in wasn’t straight?
I twisted the “C” clip in till I seen 2 divots and it was locked in.
Put all together and the safety is a bit stiff but 90% better then it was.
Thank you Guntech for the info provided, much appreciated
