Enough said!!!!

Early vintage 455 THV, one of the first over on our shores.
- .055" shortened chamber, recut claw slots
- Calfee conversion to chisel striker tip, reshaped to footprint inside rims edge only (cannot be used on 22 WMR)
- 40 gram striker (4 grams heavier than stock) with 6mm tungston insert under front of spring
- Smally Wave Spring conversion for striker spring (not a coil spring)
- Probed 2000 bedding (including sides of action). All epoxy 1/8" minimum thick with extensive gutting on wood (milling machine)
- 316 stainless pillars, (front one machined to cradle action)
- Magazine mounting holes drilled and sleeved with stainless steel
- 6mm custom action screws necked down to 3/16" at center for proper bolt stretch at 22 in/lbs
- Action screw heads custom turned to sit on pillars, trigger guard glued in with false hole cap covers
- Trigger sears spring removed to fully disengage sear pawl when fired. Manual reset needs to be done with each bolt retraction
- Teflon tape on bolt guide's top
- EDM-ed A2 tool steel extractor ejector claws
- Barrel lip machined .059" (.004") more than the breech face to reduce headspace to .043
- Crown redone with single point tool on lathe, reblued with Blue Wonder
- Barrel glued in with Loctite 601, AKA Border barrels Annie 14 series method
- Short series set screws, flat tipped (ground) and doubled up on barrel attachment set to 15 in/lbs each.
- Underside of bolt handle machined slightly on back side to minimize bolt lift on firing.
- mueller 8X32 scope, burris sig zee 30mm rings with weaver<>CZ /Delrin adapters
- 9.26 lbs total weight
- sear shimmed with med YoDave shim ...~ .010" engagement, trigger pull 16 oz.
- bore slugged and then lapped with aluminum oxide for .0002" taper from leade to muzzle, leak tested before recrowning (Barrel is now 19.75")

This rifle shoots RWS 50 about .240" agg @ 50 yrds (using flat aluminum forestock bottom attachment), SK Standard Plus .325", Lapua Midas .275". Groups are a touch wider on vertical than horizontal...could probably shave a bit off this if I fit it with a tuner up front. My other 455 was a nightmare to tune because of the short stiff varmint barrel, so I am shooting this one naked for now.

Note; Photo taken before manual reset installed on trigger. There is now a small lever that must be pushed up and forward to get the sear pawl to engage the striker's catch. This mod prevents the sear pawl from riding the bottom of the striker when it fires...it just drops away below until its manually reset. Rings are also a bit lower now with a med series burris instead of the high's in photo. Just enough room to get the scope cover on.

I have the 455 Supermatch. Definitely amongst the most accurate .22's that I have ever fired. It is an absolutely beautiful rifle and will be a keeper.
