Stiffining a stevens 220 stock????

Hey all

So I've got my stevens 200, scoped it painted it camo and then put it on my bi-pod and went for a shoot. Well the stock is so flimsy that on the bi-pod it just wiggles and jiggles. What to do with this? Can I fill the front of the stock with some kinda body filler?

You can reinforce it with fiberglass or equivalent resin, it will add some weight though. I have since Savage stocks stiffened with an aluminum rod glassed to the stock.

Savage makes a hell of a rifle, but can't seem to figure out the whole synthetic stock thing. It seems as though they have a contract with Tupperware.

apparently you can epoxy in a couple carbon fibre arrow shafts to stiffen it up a bit.

Maybe cut out all the plastic cross members, glue in the arrow shafts, and then fibreglass the barrel channel all up good with fibreglass blankets and resin

Broken fishing rod pieces are just what you are looking for. Just cut them to length, plug the ends to keep the bedding out of them while it cures and bed them into the fore end.

I never throw a broken rod away. You get all you want at garage sales and from friends.
