Stiga M96 Barrel rate of twist

I am considering the purchase of a Stiga M96 in 6.5 x 55. I know these are sporterized military rifles but are they re-barreled? My military 6.5 does not like bullets under 140 grains so I want to know if the Stiga has a different barrel or is it just the original military barrel that has has the steps removed?

You can check this by yourself, it's very easy using a cleaning rod which you mark then push a bore brush with patche(s) wrapped over until the mark comes up again. While it may not be totally accurate, it'll give you a good idea.
Stiga used more than one barrel supplier, Schultz & Larsen being one of them, plus ex-military ones. As far as I know they should all be 1 turn in 200mm (1:7.87") as the Swedes liked to shoot heavy bullets for hunting.

But all my rifles, would they be 1:8" (1:7.8" in fact) or 1:9" shoot almost every size of bullet very well.
First think I'd do, is to check the crowning. If the problem is a very long throat, change the jump or type of bullets.
 
Thanks. i think the crown is not the issue as the 140 grain bullets are very accurate. Your suggestion about the jump makes sense so I'll check the OAL and see if I can seat the bullets out further. Have you had any success shooting 120 grain bullets?

I don't shoot very light bullets, but I tried 95 V-Max in my target/varmint rifles and i wasn't impressed (about 1.5/1.75" @ 100m). Crimping these bullets helped a lot. I also sometimes shoot 120 TTSX in my hunting rifles, but I really prefer 139/140/156/160 grainers, were they BT or flat base. The TTSX was not bad, but keep in mind that all-copper bullets are longer than the lead core ones, so usually they act more like a longer/heavier bullet with less weight.
