Still a shortage?

It's barely started up here, relatively speaking I mean. The manufacturers are doing a much better job this time around but it's still not enough. We are in for at least two more years of this nonsense.
 
Try finding unique around here. Luckily I stocked up an effing ton of 303 brit goodies over the last 3 years. Every pay day go buy i used to go buy goodies. Cabelas probably kept sierra 180 grainers in just for me ��
 
A person really has to hunt to find components. It's been the largest draught of components since I started reloading in 1982. Best of luck to everyone!

So the last shortage where there was almost no primers, powder, rimfire or common calibres within a couple months of the Americans panicking wasn't as bad..? I will definitely call BS on that.
 
It's changed over the last 9-12 mos, last Black Friday, still had lots of stock around online on most products. Some of the slowburn powders like h1000 & Retumbo & RE26 had been off and on for a while before that. Primers have been available all along, but the newer batches after Xmas went up. There have been 3 price increases since last summer about this time, two of them were ones I've seen people publishing the notices on this year, one was last year, just when, not sure. So, consider the ones this year at 15% each to the distributors, that's why you have primers going from 69.99 last fall, to as much as 99.99 this year, but, it looks like the 79.99 price will be the new standard. Also seen someup to 11.99/c, then the price went back to 9.99, on some of the match primers.
After Xmas, about the end of Jan, was when IMR/Hodgdon powder in general seemed to disappear for the most part, some of it lasted til April. Most of their powders are imported to the US these days though. I've noticed Staball was fairly steadily available. Seems to have been a fair amount of RE & VV powders around, mostly VV, depending on what a person was looking for, occasionally some Ramshot showed for a bit here & there.
Think we are still in a period where powder will be hit & miss, as I understand it, November orders are the ones being del'd now. And the price is up on it, something else we'll need to get used to. Vista was saying in Feb/March that the orders they were taking would not be del'd til 2022.
But, the shortage applies to a lot of other stuff as well, the entire economy here and around the world is screwed up all over all kinds of industries, and doesn't show any real signs of recovery for quite a while yet.
 
I normally have a deep shelf when it comes to supplies for 3 reasons.
1 I know finding stock for some stuff is hard, so when I find it I buy it. A lot of it, for my 6.5 Grendel bullets get purchased in 500 + lots.
2 When I can find stuff on sale I take advantage of it. My last 2 purchases like this was 10 lb of D8208 powder and 3000 Speer SP 55gr for my .223.
3 Used or 2nd hand deals, "Hey do you know anyone who..." A friend does estate sales, so I get a deal now and then.
