Still not having PAL past 45 Business days

my daughter waited 5 MONTHS after calling once a month for 4 months she was told they would fast track it and it should come in two weeks. They said they were back logged!

Waited 19 months for mine. If you have in contact with the law it takes a lot longer. I called bi-weekly to check the status and got the same answer every single time, its with the CFO for review.

Can't remember how long it took with the old FAC 20 years ago but it didn't take as long as some of you guys for sure. Just took less than 2 weeks as of today to order a revolver from Marstar and have it come in today, in Quebec no less.

My first FAC took about 5 minutes. That's how long it took the woman to type it up and collect my 10 or 15 bucks (don't quite remember the cost now). Simply filled out the application at home, took it in (designated firearms officer at any RCMP station) and they gave you your FAC "right there".

I guess we were a whole lot "less dangerous" back in the early 1980's :)

I did through rcmp website , i did selfie by iFone , filled up application , credit card . It was January 5th 16 , on 25th of Feb website shows "initial process" , i felt upset myself . Couple days after i decided to call them , i checked my status and it shows "license sent out " March 1st i found envelope with my new lic. In total it takes 42 Biz. days .

I have never had to wait over 30 days for my renewal, my att less than a week. it may be that I have all the 12s on my permit. :)

I purchased my first revolver in 1973. 38 special, 4" barrel. Paid for it at the sporting store, the owner walked across the street with the registration to the RCMP building and was back in the store with all the paper work done in under 10 minutes.
Then along came the FAC, then the POL / PAL, then the long gun registration, then there went the long gun registration. I just recently wrote my license for my RPAL and have been waiting 24 days, 18 hours and 12 minutes. I check on line 4 times a day. At present my PAL has possession only on the pistol 12(6). Acquisition Possession for non-restricted.
Does the 12(6) make my PAL a prohibited license?

I finished my course on February 14, received my RPAL license around early April (forgot exact date), and have my handgun with me at home on April 10. Still deciding on the gun club.

You do not need to wait for test results to come in before sending in your completed application forms. And getting your references to call in is a HUGE timesaver. Cause if the CFO calls your references and they don't pick up, your application goes all the way to the bottom of the big pile of other applications.

I hope this helps.

In BC we have to belong to a gun club before getting a licence. CFO snail mailed me and told me to fax the name of my gun club and my membership card. I had my RPAL card in under 40 days. My handgun arrived the next day. Why snail mail when they have my email on file? Plus it cost a buck to mail the request.
