Around and around i go. I never thought it would be this hard...
Still searching and still looking at optics for my 308 with hunting/mid range target shooting as the task at hand.
Hunting would be mostly limited to shots out to 300 yards based on the area i hunt. Maybe 350 max. Target shooting out to 600 yards
With that i have narrowed down the following list of Must haves and nice to haves.
Must have
Great glass.
Variable Power in the 2ish to 10ish range (so 1.x-3.5x on the low side and 10x-14x the high side) I'll take great glass over magnification any day.
Great glass.
Low light/max light transmission for early morning/last light shooting.
Mil-dot/Mil-hash reticle with Mil turrets.
SFP
Durable
Generous eyebox.
Great glass
Nice to have
Zero Stop
Illumination
Parallax adjustment
Fixed eye relief.
Price that doesn't make me have to sell a kidney.
So far I have narrowed it down to the following:
NIGHTFORCE - NXS 2.5-10X42mm - Ouch $$
Trijicon TR26 AccuPoint 2.5-12.5x42mm
Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 3.5-10x40mm
Any i've missed that are actually available in Canada?
