Go into your local firearms dealer and handle quite a few guns. Don't just go by looks in photos. This is obvious to many people but there are always some that make an expensive mistake by not handling the firearm beforehand. Find out what feels good in your hands and then solicit opinions or use the search function on CGN. What feels right in your buddies hand may not be right for you. Also, going with something in .22lr by default is not necessary in my opinion. Just my 2 cents.
