Brand new one, around 1600.

Thought this would be just for collection, not for shooting, not quite sure if it is worth to get one.

By the way, got a Beretta M9A3 too.

I do not recall any purpose made anniversary or commemorative gun ever going up significantly in value.

Things appreciate due to demand and rarity, not because someone put a date on it.

The 30th anniversary gun is not worth twice the cost of a normal one.

Things made to be 'collectibles' generally don't turn out to be.

But, if it floats your boat, then buy it.

Got you.

But if just for collection for the 92FS model, could this be a good model to keep? Haven't tried any of the older model of Beretta. But like this 92 or M9 series design. That's why thought to get one.

For sure, it has nothing to do with the 30 years service with US military. That's why I am not sure whether should just get a normal 92FS with about $900-1000 and. I still fire it sometimes instead of let it siting in the collection box.

Thanks

Just realize there is a 100 years centennial edition too, about $3500. The 30years anniversary edition made 2015 units, this centennial edition has about 1915 of them but 3 times of a standard 92FS.

If you like the 92FS/ M9 series guns, then get one. They are fine pistols and will serve you well. Get the D spring to lighten the DA trigger pull and that's really all you need for the gun. I ran my stock and it was still good. The only drawbacks are the fat grips, the heavy DA trigger pull and the front sights that cannot be switched out easily. But that's the same, whether you get the 30th anniv version, a stock one or the 3million anniversary version! (joke!)

I can't say if the 30th anniv is a good one to collect. That's the problem with collecting hoping for financial gain. NO one can predict that!

Nah, I wouldn't expect to have any financial gain from buying any of the collectible firearms. But if the price is right, getting a special one wouldn't be a bad idea right?

Like you said, they are all the same, at least on design and performance. Those extra cost mainly from the appearance and decorations, maybe higher margain from marketing cost.

Cause I see the new M9A3 is already on 1600 price level, getting a classic 92FS for similar price shouldn't be too bad, or at least under 1000 for a production model still sounds reasonable, right?

They are nice pistols, If you buy it at the right price, dont worry about what it will be worth down the road. you won't lose on it.

I really like it, they did a great job at both slimming down the grip and making it a little more "grippy". I haven't shot an M9A3 yet, just handled them, but have shot 92's a plenty over the years.
The factory trigger is much better on the M9A3 vs. 92FS :) I love the thinner grip and new grip panels and the nice checkering too. Only dry fired it in the store so far, hopefully my transfer goes through soon and I can take it home.

Even though the trigger was pretty nice I ordered the Langdon Tactical "Trigger Job In A Bag" kit with 13# Hammer Spring and Wilson Combat Deluxe Hammer. Should be silky smooth (even DA) with that combo.

Totally agree. I like the design and the history of this brand and model.

But not sure as it is a collection edition(at least they market it that way), should I fire it just like a normal production 92FS regularly or better keep it in the box for display purpose? Not going to sell it unless someone offer something ridiculous high.

I would shoot it and be happy you have something you enjoy.. life is short

I have a pair of 92A1's and in addition to the D Spring, if you do buy the gun another worthwhile mod is the G Conversions for the Decocer/safety. I installed the conversion on the 92A1's and now you never worry about accidentally putting the safeties on when you rack the slide in competition. The arms now automatically rise with the conversion.

Now is the 30th worth buying. IMHO no. If you want a 93FS there was/is a 92FS on the EE right now for $600. and change. The guy says next to nothing as far as use is concerned. Best buy on the EE right now.

Take Care

Make sense. It's just a production pistol with a time tag on time for US army contract.

I guess I probably just get a standard 92FS or stick to my M9A3 for now.
